Is he referring to Jimi Hendrix in the Without a Warning outro?

So, he during the outro he says, “especially when I always kiss the sky”. In Purple Haze, one of Jimi Hendrix’s most famous songs, he says “‘scuse me while I kiss the sky”. It’s most likely referring to the experience of drugs. Most of the term’s Urban Dictionary entries acknowledge this definition. However, the one above stood out to me.

I’m thinking it’s most likely that he’s referring to Hendrix, but I’m curious about everyone else’s interpretations.
