4Minutes finale - thoughts, feelings, questions, & gripes

Like everyone else, I'm surprised and thrilled that Tyme and Great got a happy ending. I enjoyed the alt reality in Tyme's head at the beginning of the ep (everyone being soft and caring and gentle!), but after that, it felt quite rushed to me, in terms of them jumping from the 4Minutes subliminal space to a happy, well-adjusted relationship IRL. I did read Sammon's explanation from Twitter, but I agree with other redditors that the show would have benefited from another episode or two to actually develop their IRL relationship instead of going for the 'instant gratification' reveal at the template and trying to rely on a time-jump to smooth things over.

For the final scene, I did get worried that it was going to be another DFF-type ending, and while I'm happy it wasn't, it felt like unnecessary audience-baiting to tease it. Either commit or don't, please.

I also have to confess, I'm surprised that Ton Kla died, or at least like that. Given his, um, emotional instability, I didn't think he cared enough about Korn or Win to do that -- I thought he was just using both of them by that point. I also wasn't sure before the finale if Korn did love Ton Kla, but we know how that turned out. (I'm still emotionally devastated by Bas's despairing laugh-sobbing.)

What was the meaning of Ton Kla seeing his dead cat, as well as kinda sorta seeing the alt reality of Dome coming home from the hospital? I'm wondering if it was meant to imply that he was mentally unstable because he could glimpse into those alt realities. Maybe he could see 'behind the veil' because the violent death of those loved ones had made him lose the will to live or something?

I'm also confused if Lukwa's character served any purpose other than to explain the 4Minutes concept and become Den's girlfriend. Because if she didn't... that's not a great look. I thought the actress did a good job with what she was given, but the 'reveal' that the thing that looked like a modern art exhibition actually was just a modern art exhibition was disappointing, to say the least. I guess it symbolized fate bringing them together or whatever, but that time could have been better spent, imo.

Last but not least, #JusticeForNan.
