Regrowth!
I parted my hair to the opposite side today and holy moly, there is lots of regrowth!
TE from a Covid Infection last July. Lots of inflammation, scalp pain, and itching.
My recent routine:
Every other day is wash day.
At least 1 hour before washing I apply Fluocinolone Acetonate 1% to my scalp. This is a prescription product.
I start washing with a OTC medicated shampoo and let it sit for about 5 minutes. I rotate between these 4: 1. Nizoral AD (contains 1% ketoconazole) 2. Bioderma DS+ 3. Cerave Anti-Dandruff (contains Zinc Pyrithione) 4. Head and Shoulders Clinical Strength (contains Selenium Sulfide)
Then I repeat washing with regular shampoo and conditioner.
I also added red/blue light therapy midday for 20 minutes on the top of my head and nape of my neck which ate my two most problematic ares. I don’t have a specific cap for this but I just use the one I have for my neck/chest.
Oh, and I did start HRT a while back which is probably helping too.
I have an appointment with my dermatologist in July to discuss minoxidil, but at this point, I’m not sure I need it. I have had COVID 3 times and each time lost a significant amount of hair afterwards so if minoxidil could prevent that in the future I might still be interested.
