Can you paint Transfers?

Hello honored battle brothers,

I amo nthe process of making different company Marines particularly pyroclasts since acquiring Agatone however I need to know if I can paint the salamander transfers orange to match the 3rd company marking? I would just try it however I want to ensure that some one has done it before and I am getting mixed results…
