Thoughts on Dennis Cooper?

I find his ideas very interesting based on what I’ve seen in interviews and read about his books (although I haven’t read anything from him aside from his GIF novels and things on his blog). His aesthetics seem to appeal to me and I’ll definitely have to get into his fiction at some point soon. This isn’t a post asking for recommendations or asking if I should or shouldn’t read him, I’d just like to hear more people’s thoughts on his style of writing, his subject matter and what he says (or is trying to say) through his works.
