Playing with a controller?

No doubt I'm going to get some judgment for this 😅 the only PC games I play are ones I can play with a controller (to explain, my brain hates me and can not keep track of which keys do what, no matter how long I've been trying 🙃) Saw that on steam you can technically play this with a controller... but that the game doesn't support controllers? Which confused me. Anyone play with a controller? Any issues? I so want to play this!
