Why is Pokemon Scalping so much worse than Magic the Gathering?

As a long time Magic player I do know that it defintely isn't perfect when it comes to scalpers on certain products but I genuinely shocked to see what is happening with Pokemon. My little brother was trying to buy some of the new set and I basically had to stop him from wasting his money on scalpers and scammers. What do people think is the reason this can happen and why doesn't this happen with other TCGs?
