PSSD Cure—Inositol works, just not always the first time
Never thought I’d be back here but someone from this subreddit helped me so I hope this pays them back or pays it forward. For both the emotional and sexual side effects of PSSD, Inositol has been extremely effective for me. I took SSRIs for about 13 years and had PSSD for the last 7
Inositol—18 grams
I tried it for a month and it didn’t work. So I stopped and tried it again for a couple weeks and it still didn’t work. I stopped for a few weeks and tried it again, and after 2 weeks I began to feel my symptoms abate.
I don’t know why I kept trying but I feel like most people in this sub that found it ineffective probably didn’t try it multiple times, with different diets and medications in their systems. If it didn’t work for you the first time it is worth tinkering with.
It’s best to take in the evening because it makes you drowsy and chances are it will give you diarrhea so you have that to look forward to (it’s definitely worth it).
Final thoughts:
I think SSRIs are kinda like hammers that are hitting a nail (your brain) at a slightly off angle and through repetition, the nail bends a bit out of shape. Inositol is like a hammer coming from the opposite angle and repetition will straighten the nail back out. Be careful not to overdo it or you may end up with hypersexuality
Last thought: be cautious with this subreddit and ones like it. There are a lot of kind, hyper bright people here but they all tilt to the depressive/pessimistic side of the scale. “Permanent brain damage” is, in my opinion, hyperbole. I think inositol will cure most if not all people who take it if they can find the right circumstances to take it in (some medications mute it’s effects).
And keep in mind that a lot of people who cure themselves never come back here to talk about it because they’re so happy to be cured that they just leave and don’t look back. That gives an inaccurate representation of who heals and who doesn’t.
Good luck you guys. <3
