MarineFord war was pointless
MarineFord war makes no sense in-world.
On one side we have Ace who has been captured and will be executed in presence of 5 admirals when each admiral is nearly as strong as a Yonko. WB is just a little bit stronger than the 5 admirals. Navy's got 100k soldiers on their side when WB pirates don't even amount to 60k+ (44 ship fleet). So it's impossible for them to rescue Ace without Major casualty. If WB were to succeed, he still would have lost more than half of his fleet. Which imo, is not worth saving Ace. It was emotionless, logical analysis
Now, if we talk about emotional perspective. WB calls everyone his son and loves everyone of them so it kinda makes no sense for him to sacrifice 20k+ sons to save just one "son". It definitely looks like WB loves Ace more than the rest of them.
Then we have this weird problem of the WBs attacking from the bay which obviously was a trap. Like can't they see all the guns/cannons mounted on the walls targetting the bay-center?
To me MarineFord looked like a very bad decision. I think it would have been much better if they intercepted the fleet carrying Ace to MarineFord or if they attacked Impel-Down. Because the admirals would take sometime to reach there.
Also, Ace getting captured to protect Luffy is also really pointless. BB can decide to kill Luffy after capturing Ace too. It's totally upto him. As a big-bro that's the last thing you want. A better decision would have been to flee and join Straw Hats and warm and guard them from impending danger. That way all of them would have certainly had a better chance.
Having Said that: MarineFord arc is pretty good from a viewer perspective. I am really enjoying it
