Update: I realized how naive I am…

Hi everyone!

If you haven't seen my orginal post, here’ the link: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nanny/s/Iq9Sj7djTm

I hope that works, I’ve never done this before.

So! I talked with the NF today. It did go decently well (a lot better than I expected) but I will start by saying, I’ll be on the books within the week.

Now, few questions for those who were interested. I didn't mention this in my original post, but for the first 4 months of 2024 we were in a nanny share. Had 3 months without one and then joined one. We’ve been with them for 6 months now. The family I spoke about in my post is the family I've been with since the start and for the last 12-13 months. They had an argument for how that changes the rules on filing a 1099, but I was confused. If anyone knows anything about that, please reply. Second thing, MB said that I “feed the kid whatever I want” (one of my points as to why I am NOT an independent contractor… because I don't) but I started making meals for my nk 10 months into the job because we formed trust. I knew what they wanted her to eat and they knew that I knew how to do that. Sure, I put her meals together and mealprep for her, but I don't buy the food and it comes straight from their fridge…

I just want to make sure I'm right here. Even though I'm in a share, both families owe me a W-2 (technically, all three). I'm not a daycare just because I go to other peoples houses and use their things (along with the other kids things) and take care of them.
