How good it would be a deck build around Proteus Staff

A longo time ago, maybe 15 years or something me and my friends play magic qith proxies, no rules, and I used to play a deck with Proteus Staff, I don’t have the exact list but I used most of this cards:

Griselbrand

Emrakul, the Aeons Torn

Sensei Divining Top

Chalice of the Void

Vedalken Shackles

Bitterblossom

Mishra’s Factory

Cabal Therapy

Brainstorm

Diabolic Edict

Okay now I know most of this cards are not legal in Modern, but would it be possible to tune this deck to Modern? And how consistent would it be?

Opinions on cards that can fit (like for example instead of Griselbrand maybe Archon?)
