In the world of armored warfare, victory is often defined by survival.

And by that measure, no tank stands taller than the FV4034 Challenger 2. The British Bulldog currently holds an almost untouchable battle record, with only six losses in combat — and boy, has it seen its share of war.

In MWT: Tank Battles, the FV4034 Challenger 2 heads the British roster at Tier IV, bringing superior protection, as well as an accurate, fast-firing gun.

Most modern tanks favor smoothbore guns, but the Challenger 2 sticks to the roots with the rifled L30A1 cannon. Rifling means losing compatibility with cannon-launched guided munitions, but it does translate to better performance for the APFSDS and HESH shells — giving them the spin for better velocity and stabilization.

This is part of the British doctrine prioritizing high-velocity kinetic penetrators, while also allowing for better HESH performance in specific cases. Safe to say, the L27A1 APFSDS round is a solid all-rounder with excellent base and module damage, as well as incredibly high velocity helping with penetration.

Testament to the stiff upper lip, the FV4034 Challenger has a track record of shrugging off hits with the Chobham and Dorchester armor. This is made possible by the meticulously engineered layers of ceramics and metals sandwiched to abrade and shatter kinetic penetrators, while also proving effective at dispersing the molten jet of chemical penetrators.

Despite being one of the heaviest MBTs out there with all the added on armor, the 75-ton bulldog easily keeps on the move both when cruising and maneuvering.

The FV4034 Challenger 2 is a tank for those who never flinch or yield, and soldier on no matter the odds.
