McBroom mom last name

Does anyone know why Landon’s mom still uses the last name McBroom? I know they were divorced for a while now but why did she keep the McBroom last name?

I noticed her IG handle is micholemcbroom_ but Allen’s new wife uses the handle mrs_mcbroom. Isn’t that kinda awkward?
