Advice needed on buying a plot

I am currently looking for plot to build my home ( Considering this as an investment as well) .Since both of us (myself and wife) are working in IT, we are looking for places near kakkanad.

Can anyone living near kangarapady, thevekkal or pookatupadi suggest me how good are these places to live. Currently I saw a place near thevekkal which is in my budget and connectivity is also good ( near edapally pookatupadi road )
