Is it possible to EVER be without your body-mod?

I'm just curious how you guys rule this. Is it possible to ever be without your body-mod in it's entirety, outside of any drawback the explicitly says you lose your body-mod (which I've only seen once) or losing part of it because of a drawback (if flight is part of your body-mod and you take a drawback that does not allow you to fly)?
