How do you go about playing huge games?
I have spent 50 hours on Baldurs Gate 3 now and I'm not even finished the first of three acts. But after the first 25 hours or so I had to take a break for a few months until I wanted to continue again and I feel I've arrived at this point now again. So at this rate it will take me several years to finish the game.
Baldurs Gate is a great game for sure! In most games I don't even get more than a few hours before I give up. I have loved every hour that I've played this game, but no matter how great a game is, after about 25 hours I am just burned out and need a break.
Sometimes I just switch to an entirely different game. More often I don't game at all for a few months. Which is fine, except for the minor issue that I often forget the details of the story I was in and have to Google and read-up to remember again.
I know many of you will think I'm weird for not playing a great game non-stop, but I just don't want to. I like variety - in games and life in general - and need to switch activities.
TL/DR: The way I manage huge games is to take long breaks from them every 25 hours or so and take years to complete them. I finished Witcher 3 in the same way.
