Painful cramps after estrogen priming?

I just started my period after two weeks of estrogen priming. When I was younger, I used to have lots of cramps around my cycle but as I have gotten older my periods are pretty non-eventful.... til today. Holy hell. I have really wild cramps and I am wondering if it has something to do with the estrogen priming protocol. Anyone experience the same thing?
