Why do you stay in Illinois? (Serious question)

So like everyone here. I'm pro 2nd amendment. I also tend to lean more Conservative or Libertarian. So Illinois is not a state I tend to agree with politically. But I still like this state outside of Chicago. I always like to say Illinois is a state with a lot of potential. Its just run by assholes.

I grew up in a small town in Northern Illinois, and it was my little slice of heaven. And despite moving out when I joined the army. I moved back here.

That being said, I've been heavily considered leaving over this PICA nonsense.

But in the end, something makes me want to stay. And I'm just wondering whats everyone's circumstances are? Do you stay for work? Because of family? For those of you who want to stay in the state and fight for the 2nd amendment. What makes you stay here?

EDIT: To add my reasons for staying, its mostly due to family, But I'm more fortunate that I'm right on the border, so I could move to Wisconsin without it being a big deal
