Need help to properly execute this idea

Here is my very plain bathroom on the main floor of our home. I have always had the idea to do a dark botanical/mushroom theme in there. Potentially replacing the rectangle mirror with a round, gold vintage style one. My assumption would be that doing the entire thing in a mushroom wallpaper would be... a lot. What would you do to make it moody and fun without being over-stimulating to be in?
