How do we see these terminations going down?
It’s been confirmed by several people (and I’ve observed myself) that middle management is being heavily pressured to conform ratings to a bell curve. There are a mandatory number of 1’s and 2’s that need to be given. This has started at the director level and final ratings are due by 12/22. Many associates will be “calibrated” to the lowest score r hey’ve ever seen. Your supes and managers have no power over it and they’ll have no justification to give you.
No merit is expected for the bottom (and maybe 3rd) quartile, but what about what comes next - any guesses for how this plays out? All 1’s terminated before end of December? All 2’s on PIPs by February?
