The Psychotic Option: Jesper Lindstrom (5.0 MID)
Potential Liverpool Double-Double has basically forced the hand of most to use AssMan Chip on Slot, maxing those making the obvious play out on 2 Liverpool offensive players
Fortunately, Everton are playing Leicester in their non-Merseyside Derby game and we can potentially find extra value there
Unfortunately, Dwight McNeil is dead (effectively), DCL is out for Everton's DGW, and while we'd all love to buy into Ndiaye since he passes the Eye Test AND he's on Penalties, he's also a Winger classed as a Forward with a Manager who doesn't SUPER love Open Play (19/60 of West Ham's Goals under Moyes last season were from Set Pieces - 2nd most in the Premier League behind Arsenal).
So for those who need to mix Pre-Workout with Cold Brew and Zyns just to feel something, we have a Psychotic Option: Jesper Lindstrom.
Is Lindstrom guaranteed to start? No.
Has Lindstrom played 70+ minutes in a game under Moyes? Also no.
Did Lindstrom literally have 0.00 xGI v Brighton in Everton's game that just happened? Yes.
"You're doing an amazing job of selling me right now"
For those wondering why on Earth you'd punt on a player with 0 Goals and 0 Assists who has all of the above going against him AND who is playing against the best team in the Premier League, here are some straws for you to clutch onto:
1. Moyes is a Big Set Piece Guy
Lindstrom was taking Right-Footed Set Pieces for Everton even when Dyche was there, and has taken 4 Corners in the last 2 weeks in addition to 3 Indirect Free-Kicks. While doomers would point out that he missed Everton players on all 4 of the Corners, he DID hit on 2/3 Free Kicks, which honestly is pretty impressive
2. Lindstrom is on Right-Footed Direct Free-Kicks
6 Direct Free Kicks this season despite only playing the equivalent of 9 full games (Palmer and Eze lead the league with 10)
3. 0.81 xGI in the 100 minutes he played under Moyes against Villa and Tottenham is pretty decent
I'm gonna choose to just ignore the 0.00 xGI v Brighton since West Ham's only 0-0 of last season under Moyes was against Brighton and doing so fits my narrative
4. Everton fans seem to rate him super highly
Granted, that part is based off Reddit, but people have gotten really angry at me in the past for outright ignoring how fans feel about their team's players so UNO REVERSE CARD
(They also made it clear Dyche had a VERY different system to Moyes that, shock horror, was SUPER reliant on every single player constantly defending. So Harrison was preferred quite often since Lindstrom wasn't great defensively, but apparently he's even good there now too)
5. Lindstrom was REALLY GOOD in the Bundesliga 2 seasons ago
Am I also conveniently ignoring his woeful time in Serie A last season? Yes.
BUT
He's only 24 so it's not like he's a guaranteed finished product
AND
In 2022-23, Lindstrom had 7 Goals and 4 Assists in 1,694 Minutes for Eintracht Frankfurt
In 2021-22, Lindstrom was also solid with 5 Goals and 5 Assists in 1,992 Minutes
AND BEAR IN MIND
These were Transfermarkt Assists, so in FPL Assists he might have had like 54 Assists each season or something
6. You'll look REALLY SMART if he scores even a single Goal
And isn't that the most important part of Fantasy Premier League?
