Improving Social Skills and Making Connections

Ever since I’ve been dealing with debilitating health issues, it seems like any self confidence I’ve had has plummeted. I used to be able to talk to people and engage in conversation with strangers and now I struggle to do so. I feel so socially anxious and awkward / struggle to like ask questions or connect. I am trying to put myself out there and go to social events but does anyone have any tips to get to the point of just being able to walk in the room and make friends?

Without it coming naturally, I’m hoping I can work my way back up to it. Any and all tips are appreciated!
