Scratched C lock tips

Hello beautiful ladies, I did something bad. Dropped my bag after visiting my dad's graveyard, dropped it on the concrete face down (one minute before I was joking that if my dad knew how much I paid for a bag he would lecture me).

So I scratched the C-lock, leather is fine, thank God. My man is a jeweler so he could polish it, but he says the brass might have some lacquer on it and is afraid of ruining it for me. And I am also very scared to interfere with it. I do not have a Coach store in my country.

Any thoughts? Have you had similar experiences? Now I know it is not bad, but I know the scratch is there and it bugs me.
