Is this normal

I’m asking for my daughter who doesn’t have reddit.

When it’s slow they have workers take a lot of breaks or start late. Last week she had a 4 hour shift and she and a coworker were told to clock in 15 minutes after their shift started and then it was extended so they ended up sitting around for an hour before they could clock in. So that’s only 3 hours of pay and she thinks she had to take a break in those 3 hours.

Is this how a typical CFA runs? Clocking out early is fine because she can leave but sitting around unpaid waiting until they decide she can clock in is getting frustrating.

She’s wondering if this is something all CFAs do or if it’s this particular location.
