Apply Pay in Drive Thru

I go through Chic Fil A drive-thru way too much - like 5 days per week. I'm just now trying to start using Apple Pay and I heard they accept it but how. Sorry if it sounds basic but I have never used Apple Pay in a drive thru. I have the app so can I pay with the app (via Apple Pay) without placing a Mobile Order?
