I just got an automatic feeder, what is a good schedule to put my cat on?

Up til now I've just filled her bowl and let her eat when she feels like it. I finally got an automatic feeder and I wanted to know if I should do twice a day (that's what it's at currently) or is it better to have to go multiple times throughout the day? My feeder can do up to 6 times per day and can do tiny to large portions.
