Tire "hopping" while trying to slide

Might be a bit of a dumb question, but I was wondering why when I will try to initiate a bit of a slide, rather then the rear end kicking out, it feels like the front tires will "hop" a little bit, I know that the 300 along with the charger favor a bit of understeer, and I also am aware that it is an automatic, so I'm not expecting much, just wanted to see if the hopping was an issue cause I would expect the front tires to squeal rather then hop.
