5 quick takeaways from Purdue vs. High Point Round of 64

Great Team Win to start the big dance. 5 quick takeaways

  1. Braden Smith and Trey Kaufman Renn led the way for the Boilermakers and through their efforts showed that many brackets had picked the wrong 13-4 upset.
  2. One of the best games this season for the Boilermakers bench. Camden Heide led the way with 11 points. He was sensational on both ends of the court. Nice to see Will Berg have some huge moments in this game as well. And props to guys like Myles Colvin and Gicarri Harris.
  3. This game in all honesty was the best the Boilermaker defense has looked in over a month and a half. 3 point defense could use improvement but with that said the defense made life harsh for the Panthers offense in many junctures of the game. And on a side note, the boilermakers were outstanding in crashing the glass and rebounding the ball on both ends in what feels like a long time
  4. Have to do a better job making free throws or the next game could be the last for Purdue Basketball in this tournament.
  5. Awesome Team win. High Point tested this Purdue team and they came through victorious. The Boilermakers looked like they had a renewed focus and poise for 40 minutes. Onto a round of 32 showdown with The red hot cowboys of McNeese State. Boiler Up Hammer Down!
