how to clear everything !!

how to make sure am not missing anything in my walkthrough! i am at chapter 2 and just by chance found out while fighting the king rat and his son that killing order matter , any guide or something without spoiling anything that i can look out for things so i wont miss any boss fight or important item / spell / spirit along the way?
