Lifting the shadow curse - Act two

I think I fucked up. Because during defending the portal, I killed all of the enemies in round one and now there is no more enemies fighting me. My party is currently just standing there, in front of the portal for a good five minutes or so, waiting for Halsin to come back but he hasn't. Help.
