Anyone in therapy really struggle talking about emotions?
I was diagnosed a couple years back and just now started therapy and something I'm finding really difficult is answering the question "how did that make you feel?" or "what are you feeling now?"
I know that alexithymia is a common autistic trait so I was wondering if anyone else finds themselves in that position and if there's a way of verbalising the emotions? It's like I do know I'm feeling an emtion strongly but I can't put it into words in the moment, other than just saying I'm overwhelmed. I feel it's affecting my progress in therapy because they keep asking this same question and pressing for an answer but all I can say is I don't know.
