Is ACL TPLO surgery worth it??
My boy (6 years old) tore his ACL and I’m currently in the process of taking out a loan on my car to cover the cost. I don’t care about the cost if it means he will make a recovery. This dog CONSTANTLY wants to play frisbee. Even now after the vet instructed no walks or playing he still goes outside and walks/limps around with his frisbee and it breaks my heart. I have read people saying they have to keep weight off it for months after the surgery and I just can’t see him doing that without being confined to a crate 24/7. He is getting around okay at the moment. He even runs to the fence at the other dog (which I can’t control unless he is leashed) I’m in a tough spot of not wanting to confine him to a crate and waiting it out to see if he can get around okay like this. ITS SO HARD. I don’t know what to do. I have the funds now but is it going to be worth it in the long run?
