Having a concrete driveway done, what things do I need to check when he starts the job?

I've seen the horror stories of concrete driveways being installed incorrectly; has poor finish, not up to standard, etc I know nothing about concrete. What do I need to keep an eye on to make sure it's being done correctly? Thanks
