APS vs state public service( vision, nswps,actps etc)

Hi all, please let me know the differences between APS and state public service comparing workload, expectations, pay, overall satisfaction, career progression etc. I know these might differ based on teams but looking for an overall idea from ppl experienced in both at similar levels. Also which one do you prefer?
