Solo travelling while in a relationship
Hey everyone,
I'm writing in to seek some advice from anyone who has travelled solo while also being in a long-term committed relationship. I've been saving money for some time to be able to travel after graduating nursing school in June 2024. I haven't followed through on this since moving in with my BF and prioritizing getting settled together. Now, I have the money and I still have the travel bug, but he unfortunately just doesn't have the funds or the time off work to be able to go together. I haven't brought up the idea of me travelling solo, but I think about it a lot. I worry that I'll regret later in life not going, but on the other hand I feel guilty for wanting to go without him because he can't afford it. Part of me thinks "we can just go later in life" but I feel like life only gets busier as we get older. Also, is it fair of me to want to go without him? I don't want to come off as not caring or selfish for this decision. I know he's saving up to travel as well, but it's going to take quite a while until he has the funds built up. I'm just not sure if I should go for it or give it some time for us to enjoy travelling together. Would really appreciate some words of wisdom, thanks in advance ladies :)
