Why don’t men trim their nose and ear hair?

I’m in my mid-40’s and have been keeping my ear and nose hair trimmed since my 20’s. I’ve noticed more and more that a lot of guys have some pretty grizzly nose hair. Do they not see it when they look in the mirror? Do people just not care? To me, it seems like basic hygiene and upkeep.
