Am I making the right decision

So I have a family of 4 and one on the way. I’ve always wanted to join the military, but it seemed every time I was going to join an opportunity would come up that I couldn’t refuse.

I just lost my job and started working for Amazon, while it’s not a terrible job it’s just very unsatisfying and seems like a waste of time.

My family and I know the sacrifices I will be making, ie; time away, pay cut, etc.

I have a meeting with a recruiter tomorrow to schedule for meps. Now I really want to do this, but I’m nervous our quality of life will go down not up. Is there any truth to this, I want to do what’s right for my family and always thought the military would be a good option but after reading through this subreddit I’m a bit nervous. Any info is appreciated!
