Am I making a mistake trying to become an accountant?

Early 30’s Currently working manual labor for the past decade, but back in school for my associates degree in business (transfer). I have a mind for organization and financial planning, and I’ve been told I’d make a good accountant.

However so much of what I read here is that accounting is a dying profession with more and more of it being outsourced.

What is the real truth here? Should I pursue a different profession? I’m not that interested in a skilled trade, since I’m looking for a job that won’t keep me on my feet most of the day.

Thanks in advance for any help.
