Foundation doesn’t work anymore

I can’t seem to wear foundation anymore. Since I turned 40, it’s like it just sits on my skin and doesn’t really want to blend- kinda like mixing oil and water. I keep trying different brands and types, but I can’t find anything that I like. It’s either too heavy by the time I can get it nice and even, or it just sits in my pores and looks patchy. Has this happened to anyone else after turning 40? What products do you use?

UPDATE - thanks for all comments and feedback. I really appreciate everyone’s input. I’m going to try to find some of the suggested products and see if I can try/test before purchasing!!
